Become A Coach

At Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club we are always looking for extra coaches to join and help train our players. We are very fortunate to have 5 qualified coaches at the club, three of which are first-team players.

Our coaches reach their progressive development by attending both a FA Level 1 coaching course and a Powerchair Football coaching course. We ensure our coaches have the appropriate and latest DBS checks including safeguarding course, provided with the latest safeguarding information from our Safeguarding & Welfare Officers.

Becoming a Powerchair Football coach requires attending a coaching course that is approved by the FA. The course is delivered by The Wheelchair Football Association providing future coaches with an understanding of Powerchair Football.

This includes theory covering equipment, rules of the game and insight into the type of physical disability players have in Powerchair Football. In addition, the course provides you with learning about skills and match play that is involved in Powerchair Football.

The WFA recommends all coaches to also undertake a FA Level 1 coaching course to continue their development. This course will deliver you an understanding of football and prepare you to coach with players from the minimum age of 7 years old to open age. In addition, it will give you a Safeguarding face to face workshop and an introduction to first aid.

Please note, the club has a budget to cover the cost of coach development as we aim to continue to grow as a club.
