The Muscular Dystrophy UK Championship returns this weekend with our national league team ready to compete and improve from where they left off last season. Electric Eels have been training very hard in pre season and the club have been very impressed with the progression they have made each week.
It's been a busy pre season with competition squad trials, extra training, friendlies against St George Knights and a new face in the team. We would like to welcome James Radcliffe and his family to Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club. However, the club were sad to hear and see Kizzy Wade leave the club to join our local rivals Leeds PFC. We would like to thank Kizzy, Paul and Faye for their efforts they made at the club from day one and would like to wish them all the best in the upcoming campaign.
On Saturday 23rd September, Electric Eels travel to Nottingham to begin their 2017/18 season facing Rotherham Wheelchair Wasps at 11:45am. Later in the day Eels face Middlesbrough Reserves at 2:15pm. Then to finish the day face Leeds PFC at 4:45pm in what all matches will be a tough opening day.
On Sunday 24th September, Electric Eels face Cheltenham SW All Stars at 10:30am then the team will face Nottingham Forest PFC at 2:15pm.
Head Coach Lee Brennan said: "We're all excited and looking forward to the new National League season. We've improved our points tally season on season since joining the league in 2014 and now we need to raise our standards again and challenge for those top 3 places that will give us a chance for promotion. We've a great squad of players that show incredible commitment to the team and I know they'll do the Eels proud."
