Electric Eels first team will kick-start their The WFA Cup 2017/18 campaign on Saturday 9 December at Sirius Academy West against Greenbank PFC with kick off at 11:30am.
The first team have been preparing well for the 1st round of the WFA Cup after some tough training sessions and matches. Head coach Lee Brennan states the 1st round gives the team a chance to play a side they haven't played before. Lee said: "We're all looking forward to the 1st round of the WFA cup. It often gives us a chance to pit our wits against a team that we don't play in the league and the draw has given us that opportunity again this season."
Despite, some convincing and pleasing results from the first half of the MDUK Championship 2017/18 season Lee explains form comes out of the window for cup matches and the team must be ready from kick off. Lee said: "First of all we must not be complacent. Greenbank are not in the National League but that doesn't mean they're not a decent team. If we play our normal game and get our passing game going then I'd be confident of a win. But we've got to earn to it. We can't just think we'll win just because on paper we're a stronger team.
"Greenbank are from Liverpool and of course they have one of our ex players Pablo in their team. They also have a couple of lads that have played for Everton in the past. They don't play in the National League but do play in the top tier of the North West regional league."
Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club invites you to come and watch the fantastic sport this upcoming weekend. The first team coach Lee encourages members of the public to come down and cheer on your local powerchair football club. He said: People may have seen action photos etc of our team on social media but nothing compares to seeing a game of powerchair football live! Fans can see how fast the chairs and the ball move. I'd say come down and watch and you can see for yourself this fast paced exciting sport!"
If you are planning on coming to watch Electric Eels v Greenbank PFC at Sirius Academy West, then please use the sport facility entrance on Pickering Road and follow the road round.
