The WFA Cup Second Round Preview - Electric Eels V West Brom

Electric Eels first team will continue their The WFA Cup 2017/18 campaign this Sunday 14th January at Sirius Academy West against West Brom PFC with kick off at 12 pm.

The first team have been preparing well for the 2nd round of the WFA Cup with extra training sessions throughout the Christmas/New Year period. Lee states he knows it will be the toughest match Eels will possible have and the perfect match to continue our fifth year anniversary celebration. Lee said: "We know it will be a tough game as West Brom are bringing their full strength squad of 6. That's a compliment to us because they know we'll give them a game and we're certainly for the challenge. We've had a couple of very good training sessions since the New year and we'll train again the day before the game. It's a perfect match to have after kicking start our fifth year anniversary celebrations.

Lee continued: " We know top of the Premier League West Brom very well ! They've got two players that represented England in last year's World Cup.

We know they like to play with their keeper high up the pitch which aids the passing game but will leave gaps at the back. To add extra spice to the game our players Luke and Amy are at college in Birmingham on the same powerchair football course as 2 of the West Brom players so that gives the tie an added edge."

Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club invites you to come and watch the fantastic sport this upcoming weekend. The first team coach Lee encourages members of the public to come down and cheer on your local powerchair football club. He said: " We had an excellent turn out for the first round so hopefully we'll have a good crowd in for this one as well generating an atmosphere."

Chris Gordon, coach and capatain of West Brom states The WFA Cup gives teams the opportunity to play other clubs across the country. Chris said: " As a team we are really looking forward to the WFA Cup tie against Electric Eels. The cup has become a great event in its own right, giving teams the opportunity to play against teams they might not necessarily play in the National League. Having watched the Eels in the WFA Championship, I have no doubt this will be a tough game. We will be approaching it in the right frame of mind and bring a full squad up to Hull. We hope we can use this game as a starting point for a successful 2018!"

If you are planning on coming to watch Electric Eels v West Brom PFC at Sirius Academy West, then please use the sport facility entrance on Pickering Road and follow the road round.
