Electric Eels travel to Leeds

Hull & East Yorkshire Powerchair Football Club competition teams are back on the road this weekend after a short winter break. The Electric Eels first and Academy team are travelling to Leeds on Sunday for the North East Regional League 4th round.

Electric Eels first team have a tough day as they face current table leaders Middlesbrough and Leeds Chariots in the North East Regional League Premiership. The first match is against Leeds Chariots at 1 PM and then face Middlesbrough at 3 PM. Head coach Lee Brennan states Sunday will be a tough day facing the top two teams but believes his side can come out on top. Lee said: " It'll be good to get back to competitive action after the winter break. The players are ready for it - as much as we try and create game scenarios in training nothing beats the real cut and thrust of games against good opponents. And we play the 2 top teams this weekend so it'll be a stern test but one that we're more than capable of passing."

Meanwhile, Electric Eels Academy team are prepared to add points to their league position in the North East Regional League Championship but, face tough opposition. The first match is against current sixth place Newcastle Magpies at 12 PM and later in the day face current league leaders Bradford Hot Wheels at 2 PM. Academy coach Kai Gill states the team have been training really well and are prepared to play as a team to move up the table.

Kai said: " The academy team have been training exceptional well over the winter break focusing on positional plays and passing. The players have all been encouraging each other as they all want to add points and move up the league. We have spoken about the opposition we are facing on Sunday and know it will be a tough day. But, if the players stick to the game plan and play as a team we can come away with something."
