Hull & East Yorkshire PFC first team 2024/25 Optegra Championship kicks off this coming weekend. The Electric Eels will play five matches in Gameweek 1 across Saturday and Sunday at the Lee Westwood sports centre, Nottingham Trent University.
Following a tough pre season, the first team has seen five new additions to the club after two departures. The five new additions include three of which, are experienced players in Aston Walls, Joe Kerrison and Steve Kerrison. The other two new additions are Callum and Harry who after impressing first team coach Lee Brennan have joined the team.
Speaking about the new signings and how pre season has been captain Kai Gill said: “ We’ve had a good pre season that has seen five new players to the team, three of those are new signings from other clubs who have a lot of experience. The other two Harry and Callum are from our academy team who have really impressed us in training. What has been impressive is how quickly we have all gelled really well as a team both on and off the pitch.”
On Saturday 7th September, the first team kick start their season facing Goals Beyond Grass, Knights at 10:40am. Electric Eels will then face Nottingham Forest at 1pm. Finishing their first day will see the team face Manchester United PFC at 3:20pm.
On Sunday 8th September, the first team face Manchester City at 12:45pm. Final match of Gameweek 1 for the Electric Eels is against WBA Dudley at 3:05pm.
Captain Kai Gill previews the matches for the first team stating it will be a tough opening round to the season. He said: “We’ve got five tough matches but, we are raring to go. Last season, we learnt a lot and we’ve taken that into pre season to improve ourselves and we will see the results of that this weekend. We’ve spoken a lot about enjoying our football and when we do we play really well.”
